Become A Tutor

Do you have what it takes to become a tutor with Students InTuition?

How Would Tutoring Fit In With Your Current Work/Life Situation?

Tutoring fits in exceptionally well with other career choices, whether you are already a teacher, have chosen to pursue a portfolio career of self-employment opportunities or are looking for an additional income to supplement an existing 9-5 job. Having said that, it comes with great responsibilities. Parents are trusting you to make a difference to their children’s lives and opportunities. At Students InTuition, we therefore expect our tutors to be able to dedicate an appropriate amount of time, in addition to tutoring sessions, to lesson planning and improving your knowledge and skills. This helps ensure that the time you devote to each child really makes a difference.

What Are The Rewards?

Beyond the financial benefits, you will have the rewarding moments of success, where a student grasps a concept they have struggled with previously, or passes that all-important test or exam. You will have the opportunity to hone your own interpersonal skills, improving your ability to communicate with both parents and students. Your teaching skills will be stretched and you will learn new techniques for engaging a child’s interest, for motivating them and for working as a team with parents and pupils towards a common goal. You may even find you learn as much, albeit from a different angle, as your students! And needless to say, many of these new and improved skills will prove to be an asset on your CV and for your future career.

What Qualifications Are Needed?

There is no formal qualification or accreditation required to offer home tutoring services in the UK. However, we expect the tutors we offer to our clients to have a degree level qualification or equivalent amount of experience in a relevant field. We also insist that all of our tutors undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, for all parties’ peace of mind. If you are unsure whether you have the right qualifications, please do contact us to discuss your application prior to submitting it.

Please submit an application and your CV and we’ll be in touch soon.
